The permanent color was no longer taking to my grey and my hair grows relatively fast. I started going grey in my 20’s and decided in December to stop the coloring as I had to do it every 1-2 weeks to keep roots from showing too much.

I had been coloring my hair medium brown for the past 20 years. Additionally, depending on your answer, how fast can you ship? I don’t want to cut my hair off unnecessarily.

I’m not sure if I killed those strands or if I can use another one of your conditioners (red) on those spots only? I realize you may tell me to seek professional help but I’ve already spent hundreds of dollars. 2) There are a couple spots of my hair that didn’t absorb much of the silver. Great! I also plan to purchase some of your Vibrant Silver. I read that I can buy some of your orange conditioner to help cancel the blue.

Silver was added but now I have two problems.

I paid to have my hair professionally bleached. My mostly brunette hair started with various tones of blonde highlights. I’ve been trying to achieve bright silver hair. I’ve read a lot of other blogs and think I may have killed my hair. I feel hopeful although feel I need a bit of direction. I’m desperate for help and found your website. For the best advice on reaching your goal shade, we recommend sending an email to our Color Consultants at us know if you have any questions – we’re here to help. If you want to try it, your best bet would be to section very carefully and only apply silver oVertone to your highlights. Since silver is basically a mix of all primary colors, results on anything but a neutral platinum base can be tricky to predict – hair that’s cool-toned can lead to blue strands, and hair that’s too warm can lead to green strands. While our Pastel Silver Deep Treatment might work to add a silvery sheen to your highlights, results on your dark brown strands will be harder to predict. We recommend starting with a 4:1 ration of plain white conditioner to oVertone Daily Conditioner and adding more oVertone if you still show brass or less oVertone if you find it adds a purple tint. Pastel Purple also shouldn’t leave any visible colour in your brown strands. To tone out the brass in your highlights, we definitely recommend trying a little diluted Pastel Purple Daily conditioner – purple is the opposite of yellow on the colour spectrum and should be best to return your highlights to an icy platinum.

We sell sample sizes of both!ĭefinitely do a strand test before adding oVertone to your strands to make sure they don’t absorb more pigment than you need. What you can do to correct this is use a little bit of our Pastel Orange Daily Conditioner to tone out blue and our Pastel Red Daily Conditioner to tone out any green. If your hair tends to have warm or yellow tones, you might see some green strands as your roots grow in while cool toned hair can lead to blue strands. No worries though – our Color Consultants have got your back! Send them a pic of your current hair and a pic of what it looked like fresh from the salon at general, since Silver is a mix of primary colors, your results depend a lot on your starting shade. Since silver is a tricky color to begin with, and you’re rocking a multi-toned look, color correcting your strands can be a challenge. Apply a bit of the Pastel Red Daily Conditioner on clean, wet strands and rinse out quickly.Ĭurious to see how it works? Watch this video: If your hair is more green than tan, tone it with the Pastel Red Daily. Tan is an indication that you’ve toned into neutral territory but your hair hasn’t absorbed enough Vibrant Silver to reflect silver.

If your hair is mostly tan, we would recommend trying another application. Green / Tan? Your starting hair color was too warm. As you can see it turned out a perfect silver gray color! If you applied Silver, and your results aren’t what you were anticipating, toning could be the key. After toning the strand we applied the Vibrant Silver. We used Vibrant Silver over a cool bleach blonde, same starting color as strand 1, but it was toned it with Pastel Orange, by applying it and then rinsing it quickly. In this case, it turned out muddy because the starting hair color was too warm! We used Vibrant Silver over a medium blonde color and it turned a greenish-tan color. We used Vibrant Silver over a cool bleach blonde color and it turned a steely-blue color! It turned blue because the hair was very pale and cool, which meant the starting hair wasn’t warm enough to cancel the coolness of the mix itself.
